Forgive me
blogging 5 CommentsYesterday I moved this blog from a folder called blog into this domain’s main folder. Now all the blog content is at http://www.idiotproofblogging.com.
Problem is, it automaticlly sent out 7 emails saying this blog has been updated.
Someone wrote and was really pissed off about this.
I apologize for these fruitless auto emails. Please understand, none of this stuff works the way it should all the time.
Things should be working fine now.

No need to apologize – things like that will happen.
My initial reaction was surprise at seeing so many updates to the blog. Quickly realized it had to be a glitch…nothing more. Deleted the emails.
Keep the updates coming! I personally have learned a lot since you started the blog.

That’s okay Craig. I got them too, but you can make it up to me by answering a blog question.
As an example, if I set up a blog at Blogger – let’s say I set up “Murrays Blog”, and it becomes “MurraysBlog.blogspot.com”, does Google then own my domain name? Should I buy “MurraysBlog.com” before I set up Blogger, in case I want to move my blog later on.?
I have never seen this question addressed before, and could not find an answer in the Blogger help files, or on Google. If you know how this would work, I would certainly appreciate an answer as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Murray
No problem. I can see how someone who didn’t know you from adam might be upset. But everyone else knows it’s just you having some technical difficulties.
No prob. It’s actually nice to know that stuff like this happens to other people. lol I also assumed it was an error and just deleted them.
Thanks folks for understanding… That was a rough ride moving the blog and then watching right before my eyes all those emails coming in! I was like “Holy SH$%@! there are going to be some pissed off folks tomorrow morning!
OK Murray, seeing that you’re holding me hostage
…
Google will not own “MurraysBlog.com” and you should go buy it for 7 bucks. This way in the future you can import all your blogger posts.
If you ever close your blogger account, “MurraysBlog.blogspot.com” will be up for grabs to whoever selects it when setting up a blog in blogger.
Is this clear?
