Make money by creating massive value

Let’s have a chat about making money today…

Over 160 people submitted questions in two days and a lot of them asked “How to make money?”

The following post is from my website http://www.wehelpnewbies.com’s blog (I’ve edited a bit).

I wanted to post it here because it’s how I feel about the subject. I hope you find it useful in your pursuit of wealth.

Not sick of it but I am disturbed by what many people say when they first come to wehelpnewbies.com

What they’re saying is, “This is great! I’m going to learn how to make money!” Or they ask, “how do I make money?” Not one person asked “How can I create massive value with my current skills?”

Why I find this disturbing is because the statement reflects a mindset of scarcity.
If this is your mind set, I have one answer for you,

“get a job”. Because that’s the fastest way to make money now.

If you want to go beyond making money and get real big money, think in terms of creating massive value for whatever market place you want to play in. Do this and the money will find you. Chase money and it will show you how fast it can run… Most can’t run that fast.

Steven Covey the author of many very successful books including the one that comes to mind is “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” said it best, “Say, How may I serve?, how may I serve? and make that your mantra

Coming to the internet with the goal of just making money first is a mind set for failure and a life of rabbit chasing and frustration. Rabbit chasing is buying any product or service that is presented in a way that caters to your goal/want of just wanting to make money.

The problem with this is most never stick to any “SYSTEM” long enough to see a profit. Why is because of the “get money now focus” they have. Yes I know, I know, many of these offers promise this. Well the probability of it working out right away are slim to none.

With a pure get money focus, it blinds and binds you from thinking in terms of creating value first which is the basis of true success when talking about the coin.

OK, so you’re with me on all this and the question that you may be wondering now is, how do I create value?

Example: Say you have a blog about dogs, learn how to create a high quality podcast and submit it to itunes. You’re going to see a lot of traffic come to your site or blog because of it.

But make sure your podcast is entertaining and informative. And please, while creating it, make sure in the back of your mind you have a little voice repeating “how may I serve?!” It’s much better than “how much money am I going to get now. If that voice is playing, your content is going to suck- I believe. You may fool a few but you’ll never profit from the masses.

Another example, you can give away free reports. Now I am not taking about what you may be used to getting from the Internet marketing niche. Most of the reports are pure sales pitches that read like crap and look like it too.

I’m talking about about a real nice looking PDF document that shines of “you put a lot of energy and time into this”. It doesn’t even have to be long. Something like “The Top Ten Tips For Keeping Your Dog Healthy and Happy” (Don’t know why we’re using the dog niche as an example.)

Here is an example of a decent report promoting one affiliate program and one of my own products.

my free report

Click on the cover to view the PDF report. Better to lead by example right?

You can also create great videos to give away. I do it right here within wehelpnewbies.com

Once you get fully into the mind set of “How may I serve” your brain will give you the content and at times, you will not be able to shut it off! It’s that powerful!

So please, if you are one of the people that can only think about “how much money can I get now” I am pleading with you to really think this approach over very closely. Why is because, this world has too many grabbers and takers and it will only get you so far if anywhere for that matter. You’ve heard giving is much better than receiving? Well it’s true. Please just trust me on this. This approach is powerful if applied.

P.S. This blog here at http://www.idiotproofblogging.com has already made me $50.00 and it doesn’t even have 5 posts? Also, it’s been live for what, three days? Trust me, the free model of creating value works.

“How may I serve?”
I’ve been teaching myself how to get out of the scarcity mode of thinking, it’s tricky, so thanks for putting this mantra online.

How true this is! Create something good that you care about rather than just saying ’show me the money now’. The problem is that there is so much out there on the internet that really is not great – that people think that this is the way to make money. Yes it is tempting but I have found that the only way is to create quality sites and give them some time. Then you will not only see the money but actually be proud of what you do.

Thanks for being a voice of reason out there!

I agree, lots of crap out there… especially from the IM niche. The terrible thing is that they teach people how to recycle other people’s crap! I’m really sick of it, and sick of some of the tactics being used too, things I could not bring myself to do. But I want to earn money doing what I do so that I CAN add value instead of working in a boring and stifling environment earning money for some boss who has no loyalty or concern for his employees.

My problem is that although I do have a scarcity mindset (which I’m working on overcoming) I also come from the “add value” mindset… putting good information online – my partner and I both. My experience is that the money doesn’t come unless you make an effort to ‘monetize’ a site. So hopefully your approach will be a refreshing change to the Internet Marketers I have been listening to. You say you have already made $50… how, if I may ask?

Good comments folks.

Donna, there is a post on this blog with a video talking about your first blog. I shared what hosting account I use and that like is my affiliate link. Someone bought. That’s how I earned my first $50.00 with this site.

I am working on my first niche blog which happens to be a blog about niche blogging.

I make sure most of my posts are of quality and indeed add valuable information offering my readers the best tips and resources I research on niche blogging.

Sometimes I read my own blog for some tips!

That’s so cool that you made $50 that fast on a fresh blog w/few posts.
