New blogging report coming soon

Hi folks :-)

I’m not sure what to do with “Your First Blog” guide I’m giving away here but I do know this, starting with it for you, is like putting the horse before the cart.

based on the feedback I’ve received, what people really need are concepts to start out with not mechanics.

The report I’m giving away now is all about mechanics and you should really not get into the mechanics until you’re clear on the concepts.

Concepts?

Read my Market Research post for an example of a good concept.

I’m going to come out with a guide/report that goes into detail about blogs.

Some of the topics will include;

1. To blog with a ghost name or not
If you choose to do so, you’ll need the domain name protected. Protection meaning if someone looks up your domain name at http://www.whois.com/ your private details will be protected. Such as, your name, address, phone number etc… There is a place to buy a domain name that includes this type of protection.

2. Make a movie or a book out of your blog?

I feel the Internet Marketing world sells blogs short by only talking about “How to make Money” with blogs. Facts are, there are some bloggers that ended up with book deals and movie deals based on their blogging.

3. Researching your target audience because if you don’t you target everyone and connect with no-one.

One of the best ways to connect with people and build a following is to know who you’re talking to and talk to them the way they best like to be talked to. This is a HUGE topic.

4. Picking a topic

This too is another HUGE topic that needs to be dug into. Too many new bloggers get into topics for all the wrong reasons and as a result they give up and move on to another topic. What if there was a process you could go through and end up with a prefect match of a topic?

5. Mapping out your attack

Building a blog without having a solid foundation/plan is like building a castle on sand.

I’d like to share how I map blogs out for clients and myself using freemind which is a free mind mapping program. Your map could have topics such as,

Who am I trying to connect with and why?

Am I providing Entertainment? Techie advice?

What form of media would I like to produce to deliver the content? Text, voice, video? All?

What will it look like when it’s totally finished if ever?

The list goes on but I want your thoughts so leave your comments below and maybe your topics will be added to the report.
