This is the big reason why hosting your own blog on your own server is something to consider.

I made a blogger blog around xmas time & was sending traffic via links back to my xmas gifts website – only maybe 5 or 6 links.

Google shut it down as a spam blog due to the links back to my site. I went through the “this is not a spam blog” process with google many times but to no avail – to this day it’s still locked up.

Any ideas on that?

For my mini money factory I’m using my own hostng wordpress blog and also blogger and wordpress.com blogs to create links from.
It’s a bit more woprk but hoepfully will be worth it.

Wow Carol, you fibbed! In your last comment you said “Just One Question” Now I see a total of three It’s ok, bring it on.

OK, first Q, does not make a difference. Up to you.

Next, it’s because more tags are assigned to that word. The bigger the tag, the more tags were added. So in posts if I add the tag “Wordpress” and do it often when posting, in the sidebar you’ll see an over sized tag “Wordpress”. The smaller ones have less tags assigned to them.

Very sound advice. Fortunately I jumped right into self-hosting and of course used WordPress. I already had hosting so that wasn’t a problem.

In reference to the question from Andrew, I have decided that I like listing my own products or ones that I will be getting a commission from on my blog. I have total control for them to be related but not competing.

Question: Is it ever advisable or desirable to list your URL at the end of your post? I see it done both ways.

Question 2: In your Blogging Tags widget in the sidebar, why are some words larger and can you control that — make all of them stay the same?

Are ‘affiliate links’ on your posts in Blogger limited to Google ads? Can you place your own ads and links in your Blogger Blog promoting your own specific products, rather than being forced to promote Google Ads.
