Before you update your Wordpress blog (If you are a Wordpress blogger) make sure all your “Need to Have” Plugins have updates too. Do this by visiting the plugin author’s page.
If not, you could have a bunch of techie issues to deal with… Not fun.

Yes Pop-ups are a bit in your face but they do help when it comes to building your list.
Over the last six months I’ve bought all kinds of pop-up solutions for Wordpress.
I’ve spent way too much time playing around with loads of paid pop-up software and yesterday I gave up after buying and testing a crap product which I’m going to do a review on later.
But then I Googled a little more and found a gem! And it’s FREE!! Got to love the Wordpress community for their willingness to create quality plug-ins and then give them away.
The plug-in name is “Wordpress Popup Scheduler” and it’s worth downloading and testing on your site. I’m running it here and it works great.

I just got off the phone (SKYPE) with a client and reader.
After logging into his blog I noticed something in his footer that should not be there…
Links with names of pharmaceutical drugs that go to drug sites.
I had to look up the words in the footer to find out what they meant.

How did this happen??
Well, there are people giving away Wordpress themes because they can get a back link to their site if others download and use their themes. (This is fine but not the above example and themes like that should be avoided.) Read the rest of this entry »
Today I lost my whole blog (this one).
Thank goodness, I had a backup of my database. Your database is where all your Wordpress Blog’s content is stored on your hosting account’s server. Most of you will never have to know about this or go into it.
Luckily, I had a backup and was able to bring the blog back but I did lose to posts. The coaching post and the “Don’t upgrade to Wordpress 2.8″ post.
A few folks have wrote asking if they can use my Wordpress blog theme I use here.
Today, I spent an hour preparing the theme so others can use it.
