Just got off the phone (SKYPE) with a client. During the call, we had a look at her blog together.

When I see too many actions the visitor can take, I know right away it’s time to ask  the BIG question…

If you could have your visitors take only one action when they land on your blog, what would it be and how would they benifit from taking that action? OK, I lied. That’s two questions.

Here is an example of a blog belonging to Andy Beard that has only one thing you can do… Read his content. http://andybeard.eu.  I recommend you add his blog to your reading list because his content is that good.

I’ve read all Seth’s books and when he speaks, I at least listen.

There are a lot of people selling programs to teach you how to make money from social marketing on twitter… I’d stay away from them all.

Why? What’s being sold is common sense and if you don’t have that, no program is going help.

Yes Pop-ups are a bit in your face but they do help when it comes to building your list.

Over the last six months I’ve bought all kinds of pop-up solutions for Wordpress.

I’ve spent way too much time playing around with loads of paid pop-up software and yesterday I gave up after buying and testing a crap product which I’m going to do a review on later.

But then I Googled a little more and found a gem! And it’s FREE!! Got to love the Wordpress community for their willingness to create quality plug-ins and then give them away.

The plug-in name is “Wordpress Popup Scheduler” and it’s worth downloading and testing on your site. I’m running it here and it works great.

Hi folks

I just got off the phone (SKYPE) with a client and reader.

After logging into his blog I noticed something in his footer that should not be there…
Links with names of pharmaceutical drugs that go to drug sites.

I had to look up the words in the footer to find out what they meant.

How did this happen??

Well, there are people giving away Wordpress themes because they can get a back link to their site if others download and use their themes. (This is fine but not the above example and themes like that should be avoided.)
