How to use this site

Hey folks, the following video is a fast one on how to use this blog/site.

Something new that was not covered in the video above is a search box you can use to look for content in this blog. Look over to the top right in the sidebar. That should help. Someone suggested it in a comment and as soon as I saw it, I added because if one felt this way, there has to be others.

Blogs

Let’s chat blogs today but first, I’d like to welcome over 700 new subscribers! Thank you for downloading my report and I hope you enjoy.

Looks like  “Your First Wordpress Blog” tutorial guide was a hit during the GOLDEN WEEK GIVE AWAY event hosted by my friend James Brown. If you will, drop him a line and thank him for rounding up all the free gifts for you, please.

A lot of questions came in asking what is a blog. My first thought?, it’s whatever you want it to be.

A blog is  an on-line journal. Seeing that it’s online, it’s known as a Weblog. But it can be anything you want it to be. I’ve said that already.

For me, a blog is a tool, a way to share information with people. It’s also a way to interact with people via comments.

Before blogs, I used HTML sites. HTML sites are very difficult to manage, no where for folks to comment for interaction and a bit cumbersome.

Be careful with the plugins you use

Hi Folks,

I’m all for using the minimum amount of plugins for your Wordpress blog. Why is because the more you have the more updates will be needed.

Also, plugins can and do get hacked and exploited and having loads of plugins is more stuff on the list of “Things to watch”…  Talk about a time vampire!

In my free Wordpress report, “Your First Wordpress Blog” I recommended using “PHP Contact Form v.2.OWP” as your mail contact form. For some reason I stopped using this and can’t remember why on one of my blogs and then changed most over to Contact Form 7.

Security

stressed out Is your blog safe?

My good friend Kevin Riley had most of his sites hacked recently and I was on Skype with him several times throughout the two day ordeal of cleaning up the mess… Talk about painful! Cleaned everything up once just to get it all hacked again the following day!

I really felt for Kevin because I know how hard he worked to build what he has (He’s got a real online business that allows him to stay home and travel whenever he wants.)

It seems many have their heads in the sand about security (Including me at one point) and just hope nothing like getting our sites or blogs hacked ever happens to us. The fact is, it’s not if it’s going to happen to us but when.

Are you concerned about getting hacked? Have you done anything to prevent it from happening?

There are no secrets

After receiving a few emails containing “The Secrets” in the subject line I’m sick.

If you ever see me sending you an email talking about “Secrets” I will pay for you to fly to Japan and slap me (real hard) with a wet noodle!

There are no secrets to marketing on the Internet.

All you have to do is ask the right people.  Here’s an insight, the right people are not hanging out in free forums.

If you are serious and sincere about creating an income on the Internet I want you to take to watch the following video.  I am part of that system and it’s as real as it gets. The people there are experts with their reputation at stake so you know what ever answers you get are going to be the best of the best.
