This the best advice a webmaster can get, losing all you source files is a disaster.
For for that matter EVERYONE needs a backup of important stuff.

As a computer tech, I have seen many instances of people losing files because a hard drive fails. Today, with all the back up options available, there is NO excuse for losing those cherished bytes.

Always, always, back up your WP database after every post.

There is a very good WP plugin for this at here that I use.

BTW, I love this blog.
