One of my blogs is about "ourgaylives" and it's in conjunction with the gay marriage site that's linked to my name but since I have no idea really what I'm doing yet lol I put a survey on my blog from surveymonkey.com I thought it was pretty cool seeing that people actually took the survey! And seeing what the results were. I'm probably suppose to make a post saying "this what the readers here say they want" etc. But I'm just muddling along right now..trying to figure things out. Btw, I will say this and I don't know if this is common or not but for me, it's really hard to stay focused and dedicated to the gay blog and website when I'm not making any money yet. Do you hear that a lot Craig? I mean it's a lot of work.........but my problem is that I enjoy it, but it's not what makes me money yet!? One big thing I've learned on line is, one size does not fit all no matter what any Guru says. Each market is different and will react differently. Voting plugin is a social proof vehicle. It's a fact people act on what they see others do. If they were getting close to hitting that low vote star but see loads of 5 star votes they may pass. Same goes for if they were close to voting but there are no votes, they may just pass. This in turn might encourage people who read the post to take a more dim view of the post than they might otherwise do. And then I wonder if it will end up reflecting poorly on the writer as a whole. I guess on the other hand high vote numbers might give people a more favorable impression of a post. I guess you are saying that the positives outweigh the possible negatives of a "vote for this post feature," right? Have any thoughts on the issues I've raised?
